Friday, June 10th .... Today's ride was a short 55 miles.  Usually when we have short rides it is because we were climbing 5000 feet!  Not today!  The roads into Indianapolis were ok until we got close.  Then the potholes and road debris were plentiful.  Our rout into Indy was blocked by the fire department as they were putting out a house fire. We were rerouted and the roads got even worse.  We were in a heavy industrial area and the roads showed it.  We picked up a bike path into the city and it was very nice until again our path was blocked as they were setting up for some kind of festival, so we had to seek out a new route.  We stayed at the Embassy Suites in the middle of downtown Indy.  A great hotel and a great place. We had lots of time to explore the Cultural Trail and other local historical spots.  As I came in, I got some photos of the White River with Indianapolis in the background and Lucas Stadium home of the NFL Colts.  Tomorrow, we have a relatively short 70-mile ride, after that all rides will be 90 miles or longer

We stopped and took a tour of the Montgomery Count Rotary Jail.
